My story begins with my love for art as a high school student in Philadelphia, Mississippi; art was my favorite subject. My teacher was Mr. Bozeman and we had a great relationship. It was this class that made me fall in love with art, and of course, I passed with flying colors.
I must confess that I stepped away from art for almost a decade and did not contemplate taking my art to the next level until I met a gentleman by the name of A. C. Smith from Mobile, Alabama. He was considered one of the city’s best artists and we began building a friendship in 2012. After about five years, I began to paint again at his house with his encouragement. My first painting was bold red lips settled on a gold background. Gold is rarely used as a solid background, but it worked extremely well with this painting, and everybody loves it.
